8 Types of posts to Make your Readers Love your Blog
Why do people love only some blogs? Why most of the newbie bloggers who thought to blog end up their journey so quickly?
Its obvious that we expect results once we publish our epic blog post.
Most of the time we have no audience at all, we expect hundreds of comments but the post ends up with one or two comments.
Its all because bloggers won’t write what most people search for or they don’t write what people love to read. Sometimes bloggers write stuff which is already present over web.
We always try to write stuff what we usually like but not what our readers actually like. In order to gain good traffic we need to stop writing what we love and focus on what others love.
We might think why should I write what people love, I have my own likes and I love to write what I fell like writing. But this is not a trait which a newbie blogger should have.
So in order to taste success as a blogger with many comments and flooding traffic there are few types of posts which can make people fall in love with your blog. I have made a list of such posts in the article below.
1. Interviews:
Most of the times people love to read interviews of some successful people. You can just start with some one who is popular in your niche. If you blog about affiliate marketing then try to find a successful person in this niche and post their interview. You will be surprised by the results you get after you post an interview. Many people who are actual followers of that successful person will definitely comment at your post .
I have posted Stories of 3 Tech Bloggers on how they made it in just 3 Months for which I got 35 comments which might be less but its a good number for a new blog like BIG in its initial days.
Are you looking forward to post interview of a successful person? then here is a post which helps you a bit Tips to make an extraordinary Interview series for your blog.
2. List Posts:
If you want to keep your audience stay intact to your blog on their first visit then list posts are those kind of stuff which can make them look for more of such posts. Most of the list posts perform well compared to a regular article. I have written a list post in my blog on Top 30 Indian Blogs based on Alexa Ranking for which I got 57 comments which just proves the fact that people love such posts and good thing is even search engines too love such posts as people always search for top 10 lists. So if you haven’t written a list post yet and wanting to write one then you can read my posts on Top 3 Benefits of Writing a List Post and How to Write a List Post that goes Viral which I have written in ShoutMeLoud blog.
3. Case Studies:
Posting case studies will definitely help you gain a good readership. People always love to know how people have worked out few things. If you could post a case study with exact results and how did the person achieve those results then I bet you are not among those regular bloggers anymore. If you can write up a case study with your personal experience rather than posting others experience it will be even more encouraging to the reader to post comments and to interact with you. I have written an article on 7 Sure-fire ways to get Comments to your Blog posts which contains tips from my personal experience which has given good results.
4. How to articles & Tutorials:
How to articles and tutorial posts are those posts which never leave your blog empty without visitors. Posts of these kinds are the one’s which drive traffic from search engines. My article on Tips to Increase Adsense CPC and increase your earnings is one of the most visited post in my blog till date. This post gets lot of organic search traffic. Posts like these will definitely help your blog to stand apart from the crowd.
5. Income Reports:
Pat Flynn is one such blogger who makes a decent income from his blog and one of the most converting page is his income reports page. He embeds affiliate links into his income reports post which usually gets him some of the affiliate sales. People even wait for his income report post as he posts his income reports every month. If you also make some decent money then you too can try posts like these. But for newbie bloggers you can simply collect Income reports of other bloggers and post it which can also drive in some results. Here is one such post on Income Reports of Indian bloggers to get inspiration which got me 69 comments and is still one of the top most visited post in my blog. Recently Rob Cubbon posted a detailed income report of his as an end of the year special post which is indeed one of the most loved post by many of his regular visitors.
6. Posts that are Inspiring to others:
Inspiration is never dead, people love inspiring posts or motivational posts. Bloggers who write for this niche usually have a huge follower base. Some of the posts I have written in BIG (Blog in Grace) too won good applause from my fellow bloggers. If you have missed some of them then here are those posts which can be a kind of inspiration to you if you can apply them in any area of your life. Imparting positive attitude to your blog readers and Feel like Quit Blogging here is why you should NOT are some of the posts which can inspire and motivate you to achieve bigger goals.
7. Posts that Gauge your performance:
Some bloggers keep writing their experiences and their blog performance reports which is just a good way to keep their readers engaged. When ever you write your achievements like how you got 1000 unique visitors in a day or how you increased your Page Rank or how you have lowered your alexa ranking are some of the posts which can accelerate your traffic. You can read my post 3 Months of my Blogging Journey with Blog in Grace where I have given what I have done with my blog in three months.
8. Posts that keep the Spark alive:
Writing a series of posts creates some anxiety in the audience on what will be the next post in the series. A blogging contest post is one such example which can keep the visitor constantly visit one’s blog in order to know the status of the contest. Other type of posts are those series of posts like if you create a guide on a particular topic keep it coming in episodes and leave some idea on what to expect in the next post, this will make the reader to visit the blog for what going to be posted next.
What’s NEXT? I think there is nothing more for me to tell except to tell you to start working on the posts which I have mentioned above and summarize the results. I am sure this new year you would be coming out with some good results with your blog. Wishing you a great and successful new year.
Thank you for including my income report link in the article, Vijesh. You’ve sure identified 8 of the best blog posts types that consistently do well 🙂
Welcome Rob,
Your article is truly an inspiration for bloggers like me to explore more of affiliate marketing. I have heard about you a lot from Angela, she says you help her a lot in creating her own micro niche site. You are truly a good blogger who is successful as well as help others to be successful…
I agree all 8 of them, Vijesh. May I add….what about Guest Posting? I heard this is now the trend that people and Google loves. I haven’t pursue on this just yet, although I know a couple of people in my friends will accept my guest post, still not quite ready to do it.
Anyway, you’ve done great justice for all of your readers by including the hyperlink to previous posts. I see you included my friend Rob Cubbon. Rob is one of my mentors. I took 3 of his Udemy courses. It’s great. Plus, I have bought all of his books. He is a legit person who shares nothing but his real experience. Anyway, I love him…because he’s humble.
Looking forward to more great posts from you dear friend. Have a blessed weekend.
Angela
Hi Angela,
guest posting is something which is good at times but it won’t work all the time. People who write guest posts will not write best of their posts but they write some normal posts to gain traffic to their sites. But few blog accept only quality guest posts. so if you could screen the required quality then you could allow guest posting on your blog. What I mean is we know our blog audience well rather than a guest blogger so it is we who could bring in meat to our readers.
I have been following rob from few days he is really a good mentor as you said. I agree with you cos he does help other bloggers to be successful like him.
Have a blessed weekend ahead…
Your thought is somehow similar to me. I thought the same and thats the reason I have started posting list posts on my blog techtricksworld and also started more of how to guides on my personal blog. I am getting good response from them.
About Interviews, I did good in past and planning to start that category active as well.
Thanks Vijesh.
P.S. I liked the cleanliness of your blog theme. very nice.
Hi Atish,
List posts will really do good, before this I used to write in blogspot. I used to write few list posts and for few weeks one of my post was on the top results even above huffintonpost. Even now you could see my post on the first page of the search results but it went below now. Try searching “top online shopping sites in the world” and you will get a result with Knoowblog which is nothing but the article which I wrote very long back.
Regarding interviews there is nothing to say but these posts really drive in good results.
Welcome once again for your valuable comment…
Thanks for you compliment…
Hi Sir Vijesh,
You’re of course a teacher therefore referring you as a ‘Sir’ from now onwards will be the right thing to do. Going for interviews is something I plan going in for these coming months this year and I hope the world will be willing to listen to great bloggers like yourself and your stories.

This post is the kind of content readers and visitors wants to read. I glued my eyes to my laptop screen and read everything from the top to the last comment made.
I like to buttress the aspect of using case studies, to me , they remain one of the most influencing factor that get serious people glued to one’s blog.

Blogging is not just a mere work to share your thoughts but also share others and build up a communicative platform. A platform where people can interact upholding equal kinda thoughts.
Thanks a lot for sharing this.

Good to see your comment here, but sorry for the late reply. Its true that blogging is definitely a platform where we don’t just blog about ourselves but where we also share the thoughts of others. You really blog well and I also remember some big bloggers like Harsh Agarwal commenting at your posts.

Often bloggers get bored with their routine work and loose their interest on their Niche blogs. Hope, they regain their interest back after reading your inspiring post.

I love reading interviews in my free time but I visit other blogs mostly for tutorials or lists with high pr sites providing do-follow links, etc. I completely agree with you.
